The Advent Calendar has yet another new weapon as a gift today, the Candy Cane Sword. First indications are that it's a six-icon attacker (2 icons each of light, earth and physical attack). Two days left of the Calendar, so still a chance for more!

In case you haven't yet, be sure to stop by the Advent Calendar for your free Fruit Cake Brick. Although it looks delicious, it also doubles up as a slingshot...somehow, for a whopping 6 icons of damage (4 earth, 2 light). Thanks cutejohn291 for the info.



Also note that the Neohome Fruit Cake Launcher accompanying the slingshot is a whole lot more threatening, but looks can be deceiving.

Remember to visit the Advent Calendar today, and each day during the month of December to receive free gifts (hopefully weapons). Before snubbing the battledome community last year, the Advent Calendar had offered up interesting items like Clockwork Grundos, Bottled Faeries, Codestones, Purple Sticky Hands and the like as prizes. Day 5 of the Games Master Challenge has produced another weapon as a prize, this time the purely offensive Evil Fuzzle Blaster. The visible icons on the Blaster are terribly misleading however, as our initial tests have shown, the results of which can be found here. If you believe that we are in any way mistaken, feel free to post and point it out. Echoing the sentiment expressed by VermontHermit earlier, we do hope these new weapons are signs of more to come!

AAA is back with another games challenge - this one lasting seven days. At least one of the prizes (today, day three), is a weapon - "Daemon Goggles". Who knows, maybe Neopets will even include a few battledome weapons in the Advent Calendar as well. And of course, for those celebrating it today - Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you're all enjoying the new layout. There's more to come. In the meantime, however, our league calculator (for 1-player) and Firefox search plugin are both alive and well (although they were never dead). They're available on the side navigation, or through this post.

To those who are having login issues registering for an iDB account, remember, in addition to registering for a forum account, you must visit the iDB registration page which will automatically convert your forum account usable in both sections of the site.

The "member" box on the sidebar needs to look something like this before you can use the simulator. Otherwise, you're not done with the registration process.

We've done a bit of redesign of iDB and added a new feature.

The new layout was done beautifully by Nan and we thank her for her efforts.

We also added our brand new weapon simulator to help you try out some weapons if you are considering purchasing them. Not all weapons are compatible with the simulator, but the most popular weapons are.

You need to be a member of iDB in order to use it. Follow this link for instruction on how to register an account.

To use the simulator, you need to create a set that you wish to use. This is done by browsing our weapon library and dragging weapon images into the equipment cart. Note that only weapons with "bd sim enabled" tags on them can be added to the cart. Although we do not intend to program all weapons for the simulator, you can request a weapon to be programmed into the system if you wish. If the weapon is interesting enough, we might go ahead and do it.

The equipment cart appears only on pages with weapon information on them (example) and appears as a small tab on the right hand side of the page. Clicking on the arrow will expand it, and you can start dragging weapons into it. The top part of the cart is your equipment, while the bottom half is for the AI.

You need to equip both yourself and the challenger AI before using the simulator. Once done (you need at least 1 weapon each to test), visit the simulator page and fill out the rest of the form with appropriate information. (strength, defense, and HP are the most important, the rest of the values can be anything.

We have a couple more features to be released soon, but we want to make sure that current ones are working before releasing the next.

Please report any problems you might see in our forum so that our staff can handle them.

The site is fully tested under Internet Exploerer 7 and Firefox 3. If you are having problems running the site, consider upgrading your browser (this is an overall good idea, because newer browsers are safer anyway).

It looks like Neopets has a new strongest (most cumulative stats) pet. Hrobi's Antorcha has claimed the title of strongest pet. iDB would like to congratulate her on such an achievement.



I would also like to take the opportunity to say that the top 50 pets are under construction and that it should be back up with a slight delay.
