Attacking

One of the most important things in the battledome is doing damage. If you are unable to inflict damage upon your opponent, you have an extremely small chance of winning. In order to inflict damage, you have to be able to deal attack icons, which are representatives of damage.

There are seven types of icons:
  • Air: image
  • Earth: image
  • Dark: image
  • Light: image
  • Fire: image
  • Water: image
  • Physical: image

The more attack icons you are able to do, the more damage you do. For example, a weapon like Sparkshooter, which does three icons, is substantially weaker than an Ice Club, which does nine icons, as you can see here:

Sparkshooter

Name: Sparkshooter

Price: 134

Usability: Multiple Use

Description: A lightweight weapon that can give enemies a bit of a sting.

Ice Club

Name: Ice Club

Price: 80,000

Usability: Multiple Use

Description: A perfect weapon against those who don't like the cold.

While an icon is a representative of damage, the actual damage you deal is based on your pet's strength stat. Generally, the higher amount of strength you have, the more damage you will deal, to a certain extent. There are certain ranges of pet strength where each icon does a fixed amount of damage. It sounds much more complicated than it has to, but here are the specific details:

  • Less than 7 strength – .5 damage per icon
  • 8 to 12 – .75 damage
  • 13 to 19 – 1 damage
  • 20 to 34 – 1.25 damage
  • 35 to 54 – 1.5 damage
  • 55 to 84 – 2 damage
  • 85 to 124 – 2.5 damage
  • 125 to 199 – 3 damage
  • 200 to 249 – 4.5 damage
  • 250 to 299 – 5.5 damage
  • 300 to 349 – 6.5 damage
  • 350 to 399 – 7.5 damage
  • 400 to 449 – 8.5 damage
  • 450 to 499 – 9.75 damage
  • 500 to 549 – 11 damage
  • 550 to 599 – 12 damage
  • 600 to 649 – 13 damage
  • 650 to 699 – 14 damage
  • 700 or higher – 15 damage

As you can see, having strength within a bracket will yield the same damage; a pet with 35 strength is just as strong (in terms of dealing damage) as a pet with 50 strength. A pet with 700 strength is just as strong as a pet with 5000 strength. These brackets are commonly commonly called strength boosts. A pet in the range of 35 to 54 strength is said to have the 35 strength boost.

Example My pet has 100 strength and uses two Bzzt Blasters. (For this example, we will ignore stances, which will be explained in detail later.)

Bzzt Blaster

Name: Bzzt Blaster

Price: 2,200,000

Usability: Multiple Use

Description: "Bzzt"

Because my pet has 100 strength, that means it has the 85 strength boost. Each icon I deal will do 2.5 damage. Each Bzzt Blaster does 11 icons of damage, so two will do 22 icons. Therefore, I do 2.5 times 22, or 55 points of damage.

Also, one last thing to note: Many weapons do fractional icons. For example, a weapon may display five icons, but actually do less damage. Even though five icons are displayed, the actual icons are less. This is very common in many weapons, so be sure to pay attention to damage done as opposed to just pure icons.
