The chance of doing 0.4 physical means you really need to look elsewhere for physical defence. As for the earth and air defense, choose Leaf Shield instead and get some attack going ;)

Slightly better defense than the JubJub Battle Shield for a slightly cheaper price.

You could find this useful in some cases because of it's cheap price and it's not so bad defense. But with a little more NP i would get a stronger shield such as a Leaf Shield or a dual duty weapon like a Dirty Snow for a simmilar defense with better results.
