Pre-Battle Analysis:

This was the rematch (see an earlier article in this series) of what had been an entertaining, ten round draw. It was fought December 30th 2005.

Given that this fight had only taken place 12 days after the last fight, you’ll notice a few things. Namely: we’ve both gotten stronger. I’ve gained 11 hitpoints in 12 days, which seems about right for me overall given I miss several chances at training. Thinkfacility, on the other hand, has trained up Chu 27 hitpoints, and a full strength boost. I am in for a tougher fight than last time! This is clearly a sign of a dedicated battler, one willing to sacrifice a lot of time and neopoints to get where they want to go.

To take a look at it in more absolute terms, Chu now only needs 62 unblocked icons to defeat me, down from 66. I now need 79 icons, up from the 76 I used to need. Its only a small swing each way, but now he pretty much has a full round of an advantage on me, and given equal defenses, and battlesets, id be no better than ¼ to win the fight. As it stands, I give myself an edge in both areas, and am still down, but nothing I cant overcome. I had posted looking for a fight before going out for the evening, claiming I had 30 minutes, and Chu found me.

Round 1:

What am I thinking: What am I going to wear? Where should I try to park? Should I eat before heading over to this club? What if her friends turn out to be psychotic and or annoying?  Chu sinked last time, I should definitely throw my noxious carrotblade to gain a leg up this time. Is this girl really worth it? How much money should I bring with me? Is my car clean? I think I need to also use a g-shield to stop chu from 1 round ko’ing me.  Yeah let’s do that.

What I think he is thinking: I’m not thinking this deep at all right now.

My Move: Noxious Carrot Blade + Nimmo Chant + Ghostkershield (??)

His Move: Cutlass + H4000 Helmet + Sink

The Result: Oops! This wasn’t me trying to be clever, honest! (Though I did correctly guess the sink, so a freezer + a ncb would have been sweet). This wasn’t me drinking, I swear. I still had to drive that night. Just me being unacceptably lackadaisical. He has me down to 672 hitpoints, and 672/14 is more or less 50 icons. I know he has a gbomb, and I know he has a cutlass. Worst case scenario for him, he does about 37 icons. He berserks and gets an extra 19 icons or so, and can cleanly kill me. This fight is over. Even if I had full hitpoints, Chu, on average, would be able to KO me no problem. What a monumentally stupid move

Round 2:

What I am Thinking. (the censored version) ****!  mother######! Son of a *$#&%!, I better have a good night tonight. I’m such a donkey!

What I think he is thinking: I don’t have to think about it. The comment says it all

My Move: FROZEN

His Move: Cutlass + G-Bomb + berserk!

The Result: Not only did I lose the fight, Chu later sends me a neomail telling me to be careful and don’t drink and drive and such. I was sober! His comment in battle was very accurate, and I was about ready to give this opponent up still thinking I had stole a draw. He offered a third match when I was in a better state of mind. On another note, this ended up being a HORRIBLE night out for me. My car got towed after being parked about 10 blocks from this place, and after I walked in the bitter cold to realize it was towed (I guess the school had someone watching the lot at midnight), I had to walk another 2 miles to fork over $175 dollars to get my car back. What a ripoff. Then to top it off, the next night, while my car is parked, it gets drilled at 40 miles per hour by a guy who DID make the mistake of drinking and driving with his SUV. The lesson, never drink and drive, and be careful in the battledome. Players greater than myself have made mistakes stupider than this one, but this wasn’t too taxing of a read I’m sure. This concludes today’s edition of the Battle Analysis Series.
